27) When...

When all looks dark,

when there are giants in the land,

when the Red Sea is deep,

when we have only five stones for our sling,

when the armies have melted away home

leaving us alone in the battlefield

let us still have faith.

Not faith in ourselves,

not courage in our small strength,

let us have calm trust in the One

who leads us and saves us and gives us hope.

In the midst of the darkness

let us open our eyes to the Light.

Let His love stream in

and lighten our minds and rejoice our hearts.

Let His light shine out

that we may be light

to encourage others to the Light.

Every fiber of my being says,

Yeah and Amen!

My whole soul exalts in the Lord!

He will not let me sink in the waves

or be lost in the darkness.

Though the mountains be moved

and every green tree abandon its place

Christ will be my rock

and my hope shall burn bright in Him!

9) Plan G

When plan A crashes

When plan B burns

And all your backups

turn to nothing

When even plan F fails

Rest confident in plan G

He had you in all your plans

His plan X for you

is more wonderful

is more exceeding

is more glorious

than you can imagine

Trust

Him

Always

5) God’s Real Righteousness

Your mercy, O LORD, is in the heavens; and your faithfulness reaches unto the clouds. Your righteousness is like the great mountains; your judgments are a great deep: O LORD, you preserve man and beast. How excellent is your lovingkindness, O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of your wings. They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of your house; and you shall make them drink of the river of your pleasures. For with you is the fountain of life: in your light shall we see light. (Psalms 36:5-9)

God’s righteousness is like the great mountains, because before sin His righteousness was the great mountains. God’s right way is not only theoretical, but also real. The mountains were made to be perfectly beautiful and everlasting because His righteousness is perfectly beautiful and everlasting. God’s abstract right way of doing things manifests itself in things that are real and that stay real forever. We can put our trust and ourselves under the shadow of His wings because they are more real than the damaged reality in which we now exist.

All life, all existence, comes from the great Fountain of Life. We are but tiny twigs in the universal tree of existence, that is how we survive. In spite of sin and evil, God keeps pumping His life into us hoping that we will accept and cooperate with His righteousness. Thus we will live abundantly forever rather than rot into non-existence.
