A Day at Baum Lake

Earlier this week my ski trip was cut short, but Sabbath at Baum Lake (near Hat Creek Rim in California) helped to scratch the outdoor itch. It was still brown, but well below the snow line of this above average winter. This was the fourth time I was there and this quiet little valley never fails to satisfy.

There are always at least a few pelicans here.

Male, then female, buffleheads.

We often meet with failure or disappointment, but God always offers us an opportunity for success and healing. Sometimes that opportunity comes to us immediately, at other times is delayed, but it is always sure. Seize the day! Seize the Son!
